Reiner Knizia's Ra App Reviews

Like it, but twice now the game has stalled on me. Both times when I have used 4 tiles and am waiting for the two computer players to finish out the round. The first time I gave it an hour, but no love. The app isnt frozen, I can access the menus, etc, but the game wont continue even after a hard restart. Too many good board games on the ipad for me to continue to waste time on this. Ill check back if I see an update. Ipad 3

I paid for this app and it is constantly freezing. FIX IT PEOPLE.

but this is still a good game if you are a fan of the board game. Keep the board games going

The game frequently hangs when playing against the AI on one of the AI players turns and wont resume even after exiting and restarting. Ive been able to finish maybe 3 games out of a dozen or so. Its completely unplayable as is.

Excellent bidding/strategy game, good graphics and interface. It tends to be long though; not recommended for casual gamer. For a lighter strategy and shorter game, I recommend Knizias Medici.

I enjoy board games, but have never played Ra. I feel this version allows me to get a taste of the game at a reduced price.

After a couple of years, this continues to be one of my favorite iOS board games. Straightforward gameplay, with good strategy. The AI is relatively strong, and continues to be a good challenge after many games. The implementation is well done. This is one of the few board games that works well on the iPhone.

When I complete a game and start another, the interface goes all weird and the game freezes. Its fine with a restart.

Terrific port of Ra to iPad. Plays well, AI opponents are decent, interface and visuals are very good. Solid board game buy and easier to play than the hard copy..... All the complex scoring is handled for you.

Be nice if the game walked you through how to play.

This game was a 3 star before the update. After the update the game has stopped crashing and works perfectly. Great strategy auction mechanic game. Worth the $ to kill time when out and about.

I have played the physical game, but this adaptation is very well executed and seems like a lot of fun.

Ra is without a doubt one of the greatest boardgames ever created. This app gets the rules and aesthetic right but needs more tuning. 1. The options menu is very odd. I will turn off the music, but the moment I exit the menu it starts again. And it plays even in the actual menu when I can SEE that the slider is all the way down! 2. Tiles moving around the blackness on the perimeter of the screen should not count as true iphone 5 optimization. Stretch the screen please! 3. Starting a new game sometimes causes the screen to freeze. Sometimes it will load the game, sometimes not. This is basic gaming stuff here. Please fix so I can give this game the 5 stars it deserves.

Beautiful graphics, excellent game mechanics....I could not recommend this game highly enough! If you want a game that makes you think but doesnt give you a headache, you should put this one at the top of your list. My current #1 favorite 15 minute time waster on the planet!

Ra is a very nice auction game, fun to play with other people and easy to pick up (as with most Knizia games, the hardest thing to grasp is the scoring). A couple of things bear mention, though. Most glaringly, there is no replay of opponent turns. I dont know why this feature is so rare, as I consider it essential. Thats an automatic one star off, and I considered two but figured it would be unfair, as in pass and play this game is wonderful. The second thing is that on iPhone 5 and up, the presentation is totally screwed as noted in another review. I cannot believe this hasnt been fixed, but the game is still playable as is.

Ive never played Ra before, but the game is fun and the iOS app is fast and enjoyable.

Does not support 2 player online mode. Please fix.

Multiplayer locks up and doesnt work with the new update

Since last update, it always crashes when I try to play a local game. iPad air.
